This edition is part of the book titled Mushrooms, a guide to identifying 642 species published in 2010 by the same publishing house. The species presented, amounting to two hundred fifty (250), represent almost all the numerous genera, without compromising on mushrooms that are of interest for their nutritional value and danger, as well as their unique aesthetic.
For the convenience of the reader, the species are described within two (2) categories: edible and non-edible and poisonous, among which the exceptionally edible and the deadly poisonous with all details regarding their macroscopic and microscopic characteristics. Also included are the necessary information about mushrooms (morphology, collection, nutritional value, etc.) and the biological cycle of fungi, i.e., the microorganisms that produce them.
Finally, potential poisonings from consuming mushrooms are briefly described. We hope this edition will particularly satisfy readers who wish to have a portable and user-friendly book for mushroom identification in nature.
It is also emphasized from this position that we collect mushrooms for consumption only from those species for which we are absolutely sure they are edible!
