They were used in 2021 on a Volvo S40 T5. Coming from the Falken ZIEX ZE914 which were excellent tires, I thought the Nexen would disappoint me, but I decided to try something new... In the end, they turned out to be just as good as the previous ones.
Let's start by saying that this is a soft tire as it has a treadwear of only 280. This means that to achieve the tire's performance, it needs to be warmed up properly, which requires a few kilometers, especially in winter... However, once warmed up, they are like suction cups... Excellent grip in all conditions, even in the rain, if you push it within limits, of course, it will make you look good. Also, because they are soft, it is expected that they wear out faster than harder tires with a treadwear of 500, for example.
Regarding fuel consumption, they are economical; they do not increase consumption, in fact, compared to the previous ones, I have seen a decrease.
Therefore, after almost 4 years of use, I consider them top tires in their category and price. Comparable tires from major companies are up to 2 times more expensive than these and not necessarily better... I would definitely like to try a firmer tire to see what is truly worth it...

Ας ξεκινήσουμε και ας πούμε ότι πρόκειται για ένα μαλακό ελαστικό καθώς έχει threadwear μόλις 280. Αυτό συνεπάγεται με το ότι για να έχουμε τις αποδόσεις του ελαστικού θα πρέπει να έχει ζεσταθεί καλά κάτι που απαιτεί λίγα χιλιόμετρα ειδικά τον χειμώνα... Όταν όμως ζεσταθούν είναι βεντούζες... Πρόσφυση άριστη σε όλες τις συνθήκες ακόμη και στην βροχή αν το κυνηγήσεις εντός των ορίων φυσικά θα σε βγάλουν ασπροπρόσωπο. Επίσης επειδή είναι μαλακά είναι αναμενόμενο να φθείρονται και πιο γρήγορα από πιο σκληρά λάστιχα με threadwear 500 πχ.
Σχετικά με την κατανάλωση καυσίμου είναι οικονομικά δεν ανεβάζουν την κατανάλωση ίσα ίσα που σε σχέση με τα προηγούμενα έχω δει διαφορά προς τα κάτω.
Επομένως μετά από σχεδόν 4 χρόνια χρήσης τα θεωρώ κορυφαία ελαστικά στην κατηγορία τους αλλά και στην τιμή τους. Αντίστοιχα ελαστικά μεγάλων εταιρειών είναι μέχρι και 2 φορές ακριβότερα από αυτά και όχι απαραίτητα καλύτερα από αυτά... Train in dry and wet..with minimal effort it quickly reaches operating temperature, as soon as it comes it really screws with all its meaning, it doesn't come off in turns in dry and wet, it defies the laws of physics.. braking not perfect but very very good. only in XL form it hits the potholes, hits them quite a lot...but worth it for all the other things it offers. Wear and tear, what it holds wears out, that's the law. by far the best tire I have worn, it outperforms many, if not all, and I don't want to be unfair to more expensive tires, now grip over time??? only time will tell.. in the 9 months that I have had it, it holds up like the first day.
