We have testimonies that Seferis intended to include many of these in the edition of 'Essays' that he had begun to plan shortly before 1967 - a plan that was thwarted by the dictatorship and, later, by his death.

On the other hand, I do not overlook the fact that the poet had left aside certain other texts in the margin of his 'official' essay collection, which are presented here, and, likely, he would not have published them together with the others.

Nevertheless, I remind you that 27 out of the 37 texts in the volume have been published under his own name or a pseudonym.
