I will start directly with the conclusion for those who do not want to read in detail and confuse themselves with the numbers that will be mentioned below. If the use is exclusively for gaming, I would recommend considering the 10700K or the i9-10850K, and using the money saved to invest in a more powerful graphics card. Now, moving on to this specific processor, initially I have heard from many people that it does not cool well, but I must commend Intel for managing to create a chip that, by simply removing the limit from the motherboard, draws around 240-260w (always measured with the h110igtx at a room temperature of 20 degrees during a stress test with all fans at maximum). In gaming, a custom profile has been used for low noise, with a simple 280mm AIO. We can see their tremendous effort to cool this power-hungry chip with simple AIO, which seemed like a joke in the previous generation as the 9900K could not be cooled with simple AIO. Moving on to performance, overclocking, and my own temperatures, the chip achieved 5.1 GHz on all cores with 1.35v, with scores in Cinebench R20 and R15 that you can see in the photos. As for the memory controller, it is exceptional and I would say the best I have worked with on Intel so far. It managed to run (4x8GB B dies) at 4200MHz with very tight timings (16-18-18-36) and subtimings. As for temperatures after overclocking, power consumption during Prime95 increased to 320-330 watts with the 280mm AIO, which could no longer handle this heat as the liquid temperature reached 45 degrees and the cores reached 95-98 degrees. This shows us that the CPU has excellent heat dissipation, unlike previous models (core 95 liquid temp 32-35 on the 8700K with power consumption of 180 watts). In terms of gaming, with this overclock, I have not seen power consumption above 110 watts and temperatures ranging from 55-65 degrees depending on the game and how hot the case is from the GPU. In summary, it is a CPU that is excellent to play with, with everything unlocked, and with the appropriate cooling and a motherboard with good VRMs, it is the best chip that Intel can offer for performance gaming and rendering. If it is worth buying when the little brother has 100 euros less and you will get 95% of the performance, from a value-for-money perspective, I would say no. However, if you want the best of the best, it has never been a measure of value for money, so yes, I would recommend it for those who know what they are looking for and want the best possible numbers to play with by overclocking it and achieve amazing gaming performance
