In the 8th grade, students have already formed an attitude towards the subject of Ancient Greek Language and have realized the unified form of Greek. Students have understood that there are many common points between ancient and modern Greek at the lexical-semantic and morphosyntactic levels.
In this grade, students are gradually introduced to forms and structures of ancient Greek, such as the other moods besides the indicative (which has already been taught), nominal and adverbial modifiers, etc. It is considered that they have acquired a degree of familiarity with the ancient text and that they approach it, if not with absolute ease, at least with a willingness to "decode" it using a specific method. Also, regarding phenomena of etymology, grammar, and syntax, they should have realized that the best way to approach them is to study, where possible, their modern form as well.
