Nonin 8000J Oximetry Sensor

Multi-Use Nonin Flex Oximetry Sensor 8000J.

The Nonin Flex multi-use sensors combine the comfort and performance of single-use sensors with the cost-effectiveness of multi-use sensors. The Flex sensors are made from durable silicone and are held in place by special single-use adhesive strips called FlexiWraps®.

The hybrid sensor system is ideal for continuous monitoring and sleep studies. It is available in sizes from newborns to adults:

  • Neonatal sensor for patients ≤2 kg, delivered with 25 FlexiWraps.
  • Adult sensor 8000J for patients ≥ 20 kg.
  • Child sensor 8008J for patients from 2 to 20 kg.
  • Neonatal sensor 8001J for patients ≤2 kg.

Accurate and reliable SpO2 measurements start with PureLight® sensors. Nonin's PureLight oximetry sensors produce a high-intensity spectrum of pure light, which eliminates variations in measurements from patient to patient and sensor to sensor.

The red and infrared light sources (LEDs) are essential in pulse oximeter sensors. The red LED measures deoxygenated hemoglobin, while the infrared LED measures oxygenated hemoglobin. Common red LEDs usually produce a second spectral emission (cross-talk), which affects the measurement of oxygenated hemoglobin. The cross-talk of the LED alters the calibration curve of the oximeter, resulting in inaccurate measurements at levels below 80%.
