I used it in connection with a Google Chromecast with Google TV (henceforth referred to as Chromecast for simplicity). As soon as I connected it, everything worked straight away! Incredibly simple and straightforward! This alone is highly satisfying! Although it is very simple, I will explain discreetly the steps I had to take, assuming that I already had my Chromecast connected to power from its transformer and HDMI to my 50-inch Philips TV while receiving network connection from its WiFi.
1. I turned off the Chromecast using its remote control.
2. I disconnected the USB cable that was providing power to the Chromecast from above, the USB cable that comes from the Chromecast's transformer.
3. I connected this cable to the corresponding and only USB input of the Digitus DN-3027 (henceforth referred to as Digitus for simplicity).
4. I connected an Ethernet network cable from one end to the only Ethernet input of the Digitus and from the other end (of the Ethernet cable) to an Ethernet input of an Ethernet switch (or directly to an Ethernet input of a router).
5. I connected the fixed USB cable of the Digitus to the only USB input of the Chromecast.
As soon as I saw the environment and settings of the Chromecast immediately after, everything was working perfectly and, of course, with a wired network (internet, etc.) without needing to change any settings!
In short... a very good and convenient device and much more cost-effective than other similar implementations. Sturdy construction with a small size and well-packaged.
