The PureLight® sensors provide accurate and reliable SpO2 measurements, using a high-intensity spectrum of pure light, which reduces variations in measurements from patient to patient and from sensor to sensor.

The red and infrared light sources (LEDs) are essential for the pulse oximeter sensors. The red LED measures deoxygenated hemoglobin, while the infrared LED measures oxygenated hemoglobin. Common red LEDs may produce unwanted emissions that affect measurements.
