It works perfectly for converting the signal from Display Port (computer) to HDMI (screen). I don't know why some say they have problems. I have always used it this way (DP to HDMI) in 5/6 different combinations of computers/screens and every time it works flawlessly. I have even used it in combination with an HDMI over Ethernet kit (Anga EXT60 FHD 60m Cat5e/6 HDMI Extender) and it worked fine there too, sending a signal about 40/50 meters away. I haven't tested extreme resolutions and refresh rates. Anyone wanting extreme resolutions and refresh rates is definitely better off matching their ports rather than using adapters. For a while now, I have permanently set it up to send a signal from the computer to a 55-inch 4K television, and I ordered a second one for my other needs.

I'm not sure if it's the specific cable or the batch that is at fault. I initially bought it to connect a monitor to an old motherboard, but it didn't work. Then I tried it on a working setup: a motherboard that works with both ports and a monitor that works as well. I tried connecting the HDMI to the motherboard and the Display to the monitor, and vice versa, but none of the combinations worked. I can't tell if the cable was initially faulty or if it doesn't do what it claims (to connect the two ports).
