    It does not contain 8 pieces. It contains 4 non-slip ones, and 4 adhesive ones in case the non-slip ones do not stick to the carpet. So it contains materials for 4 corners. Then I did have to use the adhesive ones (toilet mat), but it does the job.

    They probably counted 8 pieces like 4 silicone and 4 adhesive ones. If they don't stick to the carpet, I didn't stick them to any carpet without adhesive, which means that if I wash the carpet, they won't hold up. Otherwise, they hold up with the adhesive
