Description

Teeling Blackpitts is the first peated single malt from the Dublin team. It is named after the Blackpitts area located right behind the distillery. 

Interestingly, this edition is triple-distilled, which the Teeling team says helps highlight the smoky and barbecue elements in the whiskey's flavor profile. It ages in a combination of bourbon and Sauternes barrels, which brings a bit of sweetness to this peaty delight.

Taste Characteristics

  • Nose: In the nose, it has aromas of tobacco, carnation, butter, and orange peel.
  • Taste: In the mouth, the smoke is intense along with the presence of honey, spices, boiled pears, and pineapple.
  • Finish: The finish reveals a salty caramel, wood, and salty smoke.
