Well, I've been using it for 2 years. 2 years of noise (like a dentist's drill as the friend below mentioned but of course not as loud), and indeed different levels every day since the fan can't decide what its RPM Range is, every Boot of the PC and different RPM (set by the BIOS/Asus Fan Xpert always at 100% and sometimes 50% during the periods when it was hitting Flash at 18000 RPM and sounded like it was going to pop off the Heatsink), one at 10k, one at 12, 15, up to 18. 2 years of inadequate cooling, since when I first tested it under Stress Test and large file transfers, it kept the temperature low for quite a bit longer than the stock SSD Heatsink but ended up at the same temperature. Strangely though now that it was at its last legs, I tested it under Stress Test and 350GB transfer with the Fan Control App (which by the way is the only program I found that allows you to adjust the fans based on the NVMe temperature, and generally works with anything that has a Heat Sensor, unfortunately I just found it now) it didn't exceed 62°c, even though it hit 10000RPM Max... I don't know if I had done more time-consuming Tests when I first got it, or if it was hot (which anyway when it's hot I set the Air-Condition to 21-24°c, a 12k unit in the bedroom)... Anyway, in the end I had to replace it since it wouldn't start below 40% or 4000 RPM when I adjusted it with the speeds (fantastic program the Fan Control) and it didn't follow the speeds as it should, one 2000 lower one thousand higher, etc (it also hit below 4000 RPM since 4000 was the minimum on the curve, whatever)... I don't know if it was like that due to 2 years of usage at 100% but whatever.
Fortunately, it finally started to give up which made me search and find the Fan Control, which prompted me to get the Icy Box Tower this time (which I had avoided the first time due to the lack of reviews and that it looks bulky and a bit ugly in the photos). Πάντως τελικά αναγκάστηκα να το αλλάξω εφόσον δεν άνοιγε κάτω από 40% ή 4000 στροφές όταν το ρύθμιζα με τις στροφές (φανταστικό πρόγραμμα το Fan Control) καί δεν ακολουθούσε και τις στροφές όπως έπρεπε, μια 2χιλ πιο κάτω μια χίλια πάνω, etc (επίσης έπιανε και κάτω από 4χιλ στροφές εφόσον 4χιλ ήταν το κατώτατο στο curve, ότι να'ναι)... Δεν ξέρω αν ήταν έτσι λόγω 2 χρονών χρήσης στο 100% αλλά whatever.
Ευτυχώς επιτέλους άρχισε να τα φτύνει το οποίο με έκανε να ψάξω και να βρω το Fan Control, το οποίο με ώθησε να πάρω το Icy Box Tower αυτήν την φορά (όπου είχα αποφύγει την πρώτη φορά λόγω της απώλειας κριτικών και του οτι φαίνεται ογκώδες και λίγο άσχημο στις φωτό). Αν θέλετε τσεκαρετε το Review μου και σ' εκείνο (In Short, προτιμήστε εκείνο).
It is good, it does its job. Be careful not to connect it directly to the power supply, but to a controller that regulates the speed, as it ends up making excessive noise when running at full 12v. It requires a motherboard that can adjust rpm's or a fan controller

With Nvme WD black, the temperature dropped from 60 degrees while gaming to 35. Just keep in mind that the fan is always running at full speed.

Ήμουν επιφυλακτικός στην αρχή αν κάνει δουλειά και κατά πόσο κάνει θόρυβο κτλ. Εντέλει κανει καλή δουλειά. Σε idle δουλεύει στους 30c και κάτω, Σε Stress test πήγε μόνο μέχρι 46c. Με θερμοκρασία δωματίου 22c. Είναι εντελώς αθόρυβο πραγματικά.

However, it depends on the implementation and the PC case. I installed it in a 980 pro Gen 4, in an SFF case, with limited space, with mesh sides, on my desk, and the noise from the fan (which is not PWM) at the default 14000rpm is more than annoying, it's like being at the dentist with a drill...
This can be solved with a BIOS adjustment, so the fan speeds can be controlled up to 12000 in games, 6000 - 8500 in desktop applications, and the noise is within satisfactory limits.

Well, I've been using it for 2 years. 2 years of noise (like a dentist's drill as the friend below mentioned but of course not as loud), and indeed different levels every day since the fan can't decide what its RPM Range is, every Boot of the PC and different RPM (set by the BIOS/Asus Fan Xpert always at 100% and sometimes 50% during the periods when it was hitting Flash at 18000 RPM and sounded like it was going to pop off the Heatsink), one at 10k, one at 12, 15, up to 18. 2 years of inadequate cooling, since when I first tested it under Stress Test and large file transfers, it kept the temperature low for quite a bit longer than the stock SSD Heatsink but ended up at the same temperature. Strangely though now that it was at its last legs, I tested it under Stress Test and 350GB transfer with the Fan Control App (which by the way is the only program I found that allows you to adjust the fans based on the NVMe temperature, and generally works with anything that has a Heat Sensor, unfortunately I just found it now) it didn't exceed 62°c, even though it hit 10000RPM Max... I don't know if I had done more time-consuming Tests when I first got it, or if it was hot (which anyway when it's hot I set the Air-Condition to 21-24°c, a 12k unit in the bedroom)... Anyway, in the end I had to replace it since it wouldn't start below 40% or 4000 RPM when I adjusted it with the speeds (fantastic program the Fan Control) and it didn't follow the speeds as it should, one 2000 lower one thousand higher, etc (it also hit below 4000 RPM since 4000 was the minimum on the curve, whatever)... I don't know if it was like that due to 2 years of usage at 100% but whatever.
Fortunately, it finally started to give up which made me search and find the Fan Control, which prompted me to get the Icy Box Tower this time (which I had avoided the first time due to the lack of reviews and that it looks bulky and a bit ugly in the photos). Λοιπόν, το έχω δουλέψει 2 χρόνια. 2 χρόνια θορύβου (σαν σβουράκι οδοντιάτρου όπως ανέφερε κι ο φίλος από κάτω αλλά φυσικά όχι τόσο δυνατό), και μάλιστα διαφορετικών επιπέδων κάθε μέρα εφόσον το ανεμιστηράκι δεν μπορεί να αποφασίσει ποίο είναι το RPM Range του, κάθε Boot του PC και διαφορετικό RPM (ρυθμισμένο απ'το BIOS/Asus Fan Xpert πάντα στα 100% και μερικές φορές 50% τις περιόδους που την είχε δει Flash στις 18000 στροφές και ακουγόταν λες και θα πεταχτεί απ'το Heatsink), μία 10χιλ, μία 12, 15, έως και 18. 2 χρόνια ανεπαρκής ψύξης, εφόσον όταν το είχα πρώτοδοκιμάσει σε Stress Test και μεγάλες αντιγραφές κρατούσε την θερμοκρασία χαμηλή για αρκετά περισσότερη ώρα απο το μαμά Heatsink του SSD αλλά στην ίδια θερμοκρασία κατέληγε. Περιέργως όμως τώρα που ήταν στα τελευταία του το ανεμιστηράκι καί το δοκιμάσα σε Stress Test και 350GB αντιγραφή με το Fan Control App (που παρεμπιπτόντως είναι το μόνο πρόγραμμα που βρήκα που μπορείς να ρυθμίσεις τους ανεμιστήρες βάση της θερμοκρασίας του NVMe, και γενικά με οτι έχει Heat Sensor δουλεύει, δυστυχώς το βρήκα τώρα) δεν πέρασε τους 62°c, παρότι έπιανε 10000RPM Max... Δεν ξέρω αν είχα κάνει πιο χρονοβόρα Test όταν το είχα πρωτοπάρει, ή αν είχε ζέστη (που ούτως ή άλλως όταν έχει ζέστη το βάζω στους 21-24°c το Air-Condition, 12άρι κιόλας σε υπνοδωμάτιο)... Πάντως τελικά αναγκάστηκα να το αλλάξω εφόσον δεν άνοιγε κάτω από 40% ή 4000 στροφές όταν το ρύθμιζα με τις στροφές (φανταστικό πρόγραμμα το Fan Control) καί δεν ακολουθούσε και τις στροφές όπως έπρεπε, μια 2χιλ πιο κάτω μια χίλια πάνω, etc (επίσης έπιανε και κάτω από 4χιλ στροφές εφόσον 4χιλ ήταν το κατώτατο στο curve, ότι να'ναι)... Δεν ξέρω αν ήταν έτσι λόγω 2 χρονών χρήσης στο 100% αλλά whatever.
Ευτυχώς επιτέλους άρχισε να τα φτύνει το οποίο με έκανε να ψάξω και να βρω το Fan Control, το οποίο με ώθησε να πάρω το Icy Box Tower αυτήν την φορά (όπου είχα αποφύγει την πρώτη φορά λόγω της απώλειας κριτικών και του οτι φαίνεται ογκώδες και λίγο άσχημο στις φωτό). Αν θέλετε τσεκαρετε το Review μου και σ' εκείνο (In Short, προτιμήστε εκείνο).
It is good, it does its job. Be careful not to connect it directly to the power supply, but to a controller that regulates the speed, as it ends up making excessive noise when running at full 12v. It requires a motherboard that can adjust rpm's or a fan controller
καλό είναι την δουλειά του την κάνει. προσοχή μην συνδεθεί απλά με τροφοδοσία αλλά σε controller που ρυθμίζει στροφές γιατί καταλήγει να κάνει υπερβολικό θόρυβο έχοντας το σε full 12v. θέλει από την μητρική που μπορεί να ρυθμίσει rpm's ή fan controller
With Nvme WD black, the temperature dropped from 60 degrees while gaming to 35. Just keep in mind that the fan is always running at full speed.

Απλά έχετε κατά νου ότι ο ανεμιστήρας δουλεύει πάντα στο φουλ.
I was skeptical at first if it does the job and how much noise it makes, etc. In the end, it does a good job. It works at 30c and below when idle. During a stress test, it only went up to 46c. With a room temperature of 22c. It is completely silent, really.
Ήμουν επιφυλακτικός στην αρχή αν κάνει δουλειά και κατά πόσο κάνει θόρυβο κτλ. Εντέλει κανει καλή δουλειά. Σε idle δουλεύει στους 30c και κάτω, Σε Stress test πήγε μόνο μέχρι 46c. Με θερμοκρασία δωματίου 22c. Είναι εντελώς αθόρυβο πραγματικά.

However, it depends on the implementation and the PC case. I installed it in a 980 pro Gen 4, in an SFF case, with limited space, with mesh sides, on my desk, and the noise from the fan (which is not PWM) at the default 14000rpm is more than annoying, it's like being at the dentist with a drill...
This can be solved with a BIOS adjustment, so the fan speeds can be controlled up to 12000 in games, 6000 - 8500 in desktop applications, and the noise is within satisfactory limits.

Εξαρτάται όμως από την υλοποίηση και το PC case. Το έβαλα σε ένα 980 pro Gen 4, σε κουτί SFF, χωρίς πολύ ελευθερο χώρο, με mesh πλαϊνά, πάνω στο γραφείο μου, ο θόρυβος του ανεμιστήρα (δεν είναι PWM) στο default των 14000rpm είναι κάτι παραπάνω από ενοχλητικός, είναι σα να είσαι στον οδοντίατρο με τροχό...
