It has a very satisfactory volume both on the base and on the headset, especially in open listening. It doesn't have huge buttons, but my 91-year-old grandmother managed to use it without glasses, so I think it's a good choice for the elderly. It has several options for call sounds. The intercom reaches comfortably from the 1st floor and has a very long range. It can also store many numbers, I don't remember exactly how many but they are listed on the packaging. Another very positive thing, at least for me, is that the base can be adjusted so it doesn't shake. I didn't use the answering machine function, only tested it, but I don't think I will use it since I don't need it, but it may be useful for some people.
