Description

Description

The model XR-55X90J from the company Sony, has a screen size of 55". The minimum recommended viewing distance for this size is 2.1m and the maximum is 3.5m. This size is recommended for placement in large living rooms, or projection spaces.

The resolution of the TV is 4K Ultra HD. TVs with 4K Ultra HD resolution are aimed at consumers looking for higher image quality and viewing experience compared to TVs with lower resolutions, such as Full HD or HD Ready. The 4K Ultra HD resolution, which amounts to 3840 x 2160 pixels, offers very high image quality, focusing on detail. These TVs are suitable for watching movies, sports events, gaming, and other entertainment activities that require quality image.
Additionally, these TVs are suitable for use with computers and for modern games with high demands on resolution. They are usually aimed at consumers who want the best possible viewing experience and are ready to invest in a high-quality TV.

The panel of the TV is Full Array LED. The main advantages of the Full Array LED panel are improved contrast and uniform screen brightness. This is achieved through the placement of multiple LEDs behind the screen and positioned between different areas of the screen.
This allows the television to control the lighting and shading of different areas of the screen independently of the other areas, offering greater accuracy and improved color reproduction. Additionally, televisions with Full Array LED panels can be thinner and lighter, as they do not require as much space for the LEDs located behind the screen, compared to televisions with direct LED panels.

Regarding HDR, it is equipped with. High Dynamic Range (HDR) and its various types generally improve the picture quality of televisions and other video playback devices. This is achieved by increasing the dynamic range of colors and brightness of images.
The advantages of HDR are more vivid and natural colors, deeper blacks and brighter whites, more details in the shadows and highlights of the image, and more accurate color reproduction. Additionally, filmmakers can leverage HDR to produce movies with more natural and realistic images.
Finally, devices with HDR support can play content that is encoded with HDR, offering a more impressive viewing experience for the user.

It features a high refresh rate, 120Hz. Increasing the refresh rate results in improved image smoothness and reduced blurring or ghosting during dynamic presentation of fast movements or high-motion scenes. This makes the experience of watching movies, series, sports events, and games more realistic and impressive.

This model belongs to the broader family of Smart TVs. Smart TVs represent the evolution in television technology, as they incorporate Internet functions, allowing browsing of websites and the use of online applications (e.g., Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, etc.). They are, therefore, an example of technological convergence between computers and televisions. The latest Smart TVs have the capability of full Internet browsing, while older ones support access only to popular websites (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, Twitter) through appropriate applications.

Featuring another important characteristic, that of VRR, this model will enhance the Gaming experience. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology is used in televisions to improve the user's experience during game playback. With VRR technology, the television can adjust its refresh rate to the frame rate generated by the source, such as a gaming console, which improves image smoothness and reduces screen tearing during fast movements in games.
VRR technology helps players react accurately to the game environment and improves their performance. Additionally, VRR technology allows televisions to work better with sources that have different refresh rates, meaning televisions can work better with a wide variety of games and gaming devices.

The television has PVR capability. PVR on televisions refers to the function of a TV receiver with a built-in hard drive, allowing you to record TV programs and store them on the TV's hard drive.
This way, you can record your favorite programs and watch them when you want, instead of having to watch them live during their broadcast.

We bought it new through Skroutz 5 months ago. Average usage is 5 hours per day, mounted on the wall in the living room. It is dark, slow, and has mediocre sound. It started to darken in the middle of the screen. They did not accept a return. We sent it for service and they told us that it was due to "smoke" in the area, not covered by the warranty, and they sent us a refurbished one "out of goodwill" that is worse than the original. I should note that nobody smokes in the area, there is no fireplace, only a radiator. In the service, they also told us that it had been used for 2800 hours and was an exhibition product. The conclusions are up to you.

Molos received with a gift the VAT at 726, I believe it is the appropriate price without competition for it. I was a little surprised that Greek channels show all the details and it looks strange of course, I also come from a 10-year-old Samsung so I will get used to it. Ps5 incredible image and very good HDR

Exactly one year from the date of purchase, vertical lines appeared on the screen. Additionally, there is now a huge bleeding all around. White, blurry color. A significant loss and distorted colors. I am expecting notification from the dealership. It is within warranty.

P.S. The dealership sent me a new one. I will come back after a short period of time.

Purchased 2 weeks ago for 899 with a 20% refund and another gift voucher worth 180 euros, so practically 540 euros. I will be clear, at this price it was like a joke compared to anything else. The TV on rtings is better than anything in its category, including qled q80 and q90. The only better one at a similar initial price but without discounts is the mini led qn90a.

It has a VA Panel, direct LED, full array with local dimming, 120hz panel with 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. It supports Dolby Vision. Excellent picture and good sound for a TV, not that obviously it can't be better with a soundbar.

I don't know what more someone who is not an extreme hardcore gamer user can ask for. Google TV is incredibly user-friendly and solves your problems, you can install whatever you want.
    At a price of 800 and below, it's a no-brainer.

Excellent television for its price. I was looking for a television that combines pure Android TV and Apple HomeKit support. Many settings, generally bulk-free, and excellent picture quality. On the downside, I would mention the sound, which is excessively treble-heavy. It can be corrected to some extent through the equalizer, but it doesn't bother me as I use an external amplifier

The image of it is very good and the black is good as well. The sound is so-so. It replaced a kd-49 that broke. For 900.00 euros, which is the retail price, it's not really worth it. I found it with a 20% return through eurobank card and another 180 euros gift voucher. With the above discounts, you won't find anything better. However, I believe you can find it for 900.00.

I already have it for three months, what can one say, pure awe!! Bought it for around 750 with the go4more from the national. Picture paradise! Fully reliable! Get it with closed eyes if you have the budget. The menu is worth every penny, with android you can install whatever you like (with the downloader program for android tv). Stay away from Linux, web os software, etc., get android and have peace of mind!

I have had the television for a month now, and with the home cinema, it cannot be connected. One plays, one stops playing, and when I watch movies on Netflix and there are dark scenes, the moment the subtitles appear, the frame lights up, and when the subtitles disappear, it darkens again. The result is that you watch a movie and see the television flickering according to the subtitles. I don't know if anyone else has noticed something like this. I called the technicians to come and see it, and they told me that it is normal for it to play like that and that the home cinema is simply not supported by the television. (Of course, I told them that if it was not supported, the logical thing would be for it not to play at all, and not to play whenever it wants, but they insist on their opinion). I bought this television and replaced an LG from 2011, and in the end, I don't know if I should have done it or not because LG never gave me any problems.

Very satisfied when you put 4k content you stay speechless. I downloaded stremio (the free netflix) and I watch everything in 4k. You can easily play with many settings and adjust the image exactly as you want, however in some YouTube videos that have good quality, the imax enhanced mode automatically activates, meaning the best image settings and you don't need to adjust anything. Very good blacks and powerful sound. I haven't tried it with PS5 yet.

Under no circumstances would I give approximately 1000 euros to acquire it if there was no promotional action with a 20% refund. Compared to the previous LG I had since 2012, I am once again enjoying enriched smart functions that had stopped working. The sound and image quality depend on the source, from terrible on analog channels to perfect on Netflix Dolby, 4k. The menu is quite fast but the remote control loses a lot since it has very small buttons. I hope it lasts a decade like the previous one and that the OLED panels have matured more so that I can upgrade again.

Very good television. You have the ability to give voice commands to change channels and more. I couldn't make any settings, so I called a number at Sony that they give you and they serve you remotely like with telephones.
Positive that the support legs have the ability to come closer to each other so that no other furniture placement option is needed.
I won't say much about the image quality because I personally find it perfect.
The only negative aspect is that it takes quite a while to switch from one channel to another.
I got it on Black Friday for 899 euros. Very good price for such a television.
It supports internet connection and 2.4 and 5 GHz. It's a pleasure to watch YouTube in 4K

Buying a 55-inch TV for 1199 euros is one of the top three choices in the LED TV category for 2021. The other two, Sony x95j and Samsung Qn90a, were rejected because the first had minimal differences from the x90j that did not justify the 500 euro difference, while the Qn90a was rejected due to its IPS panel, which many do not know is only available in Europe with IPS. The x90j has excellent picture quality, especially with Dolby Vision, exceptional upscaling (as Sony is known for in this category), and incredible contrast that truly enhances it. On the downside, it has limited viewing angles like all VA panels and minimal blooming, but it is not particularly bothersome. The best value for money in its category, Sony=quality.

I bought the 55'' on black friday and I was torn between OLED and this one. I researched it a lot on the internet and ended up here. I am definitely satisfied. The picture is very good, it doesn't have the best sound (but that can be fixed with a sound bar) and the menu initially gave me some trouble but once you learn it, it's relatively simple. If you don't want to go for OLED due to cost or fear of burnt pixels, etc., buy this one blindly, it's a very good choice for what it offers.

The biggest positive of this Sony category is the processor, which offers both speed and optimized image. I believe that Sony is an excellent choice for TVs because it offers a quality overall package.

Additionally, Sony has its own platform for HD movies, etc., and gives you credits for 5 movies along with the purchase of the TV.

The television is an excellent choice for the money. So far, it has been tested on Netflix Prime and Sony's subscription and performs excellently. I am looking forward to trying it with the PS4

Very good image, but above all I like that I can download apps. It has absolutely nothing to do with the previous television I had in the past decade.
