From the fifty years that I have been alive, for forty-two I have been trying to understand its puzzle, filling journals with possible clues for its solution, at least for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, about joys and sorrows, about what made me feel admiration, about what made me laugh out loud... How to be fair. How to have less anxiety. How to have fun. How to hurt others less. How to hurt myself less. How to become a good person. How to give meaning to my life. How to become the best version of myself.
A while ago, I decided to delve into these journals again. I discovered stories that I lived, life lessons that I later forgot, verses, prayers, thoughts about what truly matters, and a bunch of notes. And I found my theme. A life approach that offered me satisfaction, and still does: if you know how and when to handle life's challenges - how to handle the inevitable - then you can enjoy what I call "catching the green".
So, I isolated myself in the desert and started writing this book: an album, a scrapbook of ideas and images, the story of my life up until now. Fifty years of images and different perspectives, feelings and realizations, terrible moments, moments of shame. Blessed lessons, truths, violent moments, and at the same time, wonderful ones. Moments when I managed to escape and others when I didn't, moments when I became drenched trying to dance in the rain.
I hope that this book will be for you something like medicine with a nice taste, like taking one or two aspirins instead of going to the doctor, like piloting a spaceship without a license, like going to church without having to be reborn, and like laughing amidst your tears.
It is a love letter. For life.
It is also a valuable tool for catching the green - and for realizing that, in the end, orange and red always turn green.
Good luck.
