Translation activity is a laborious and multi-layered linguistic creation, which international literature attempts to illuminate with various theoretical perspectives and positions.
We have chosen a critical presentation of the translating reflections by Berman, Delisle, Hatim and Mason, Newmark, Reiß, Wilss, Yebra, and others, which allows for the realization and understanding of both the primary and secondary steps of the translation act.
The analysis of the translation process at its individual stages contributes to the systematization of any empirically acquired perception of translation by the reader and provides a useful tool for the analysis and evaluation of translations.
