It is quite absorbent, but it fills up very quickly, resulting in having to constantly cut a new piece for two or three small tasks. For example, for a desoldering and soldering of a pi, it got saturated with oil. Maybe I should have bought a thicker strip, but on the other hand, its thickness matches the pins perfectly.
