    It works great. I don’t know if you gain anything by going for more expensive ones, but I definitely know about cheaper ones that have issues. One wouldn’t support a second monitor, another wouldn’t support certain screen resolutions, a third would shut down with a power outage and wouldn’t turn back on until you pressed the button, and one cheap one I had from China needed the cable connecting it to the laptop to be changed every 3rd or 4th day (all cables that worked and still work 100% with other devices).
    Is it expensive? Compared to others, yes. Is it worth the money? Probably yes.
    Can you do your job with a cheaper one? Probably yes.
    If you’re looking for something truly universal that you’ll keep for 5-10 years, or for however many more years USB4-Thunderbolt continues to work regardless of which laptop you connect to it, it’s worth it for the brand/reliability.
