The Burrageara Nelly Isler is the fragrant red orchid of the Cambria group. Its flowers have a diameter of 6-8 cm in a dark carmine red color, with a lighter lip and a sweet rose scent that can be perceived from several meters away. It blooms twice a year and requires less light than most orchids in the Oncidium alliance.

Care instructions:

• It is one of the most affordable orchids of the Oncidium alliance.
• Prefers moderate temperatures and regular watering; it does not tolerate deep drying out nor constantly wet substrate.
• Light: bright indirect light, but less than Brassia or Oncidium. An east-facing window is ideal.
• Temperature: 16-24 °C, 4-5 °C lower at night. Above 28 °C the plant suffers, as it originates from cool mountainous forest areas.
• Watering: water when the substrate has dried out by two-thirds, about every 5-7 days in summer. The thin roots do not tolerate prolonged complete drying.
• Humidity: 50-70%, with good air circulation.
• Substrate: fine to medium orchid bark, optionally with some sphagnum moss for moisture.
• Fertilization: orchid fertilizers at a quarter strength, every second watering, during growth.
• Propagation: by division, with at least three pseudobulbs per piece, after flowering.
