Description

Extremely compact, extremely lightweight, extremely practical, and extremely unique with its lights, the DJControl Starlight features all the functions you need to mix and scratch with Serato DJ Lite. With the built-in audio interface, the DJControl Starlight offers headphone pre-listening, so you can then play your mix through the speakers, which is ideal for learning or creating new mixes. The system is so complete for its size that it includes all the essential features, such as bass balance/filter buttons for smooth transitions or touch-sensitive jog wheels for easy scratching. The added advantage: the bright and powerful RGB backlighting with unique strobe effects, which makes learning to mix easier.

I really don't see the logic in buying it when there is the impulse 200 available at the same price with excessively more features to offer

For road or backup controller it's worth the money and more.
    Positives:
    Small size.
Very good price compared to what it offers.
    Has a sound card.
    Strong outputs.
    Logical button layout.
Touch sensitive jog wheels with vinyl mode for scratches.
Has filter, Bass +/-, pads, master cue, and fader start.
    Lights for synchronization.
    Powered by USB port.
Works with Serato lite and Serato pro (rec, VST effects, remapping, track key, etc.).
Takes maps for DJ pro, VDJ pro, Traktor pro, DEX, and Djuced.
    Also works with Android: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7pQY2KRHUo

    Negatives:
Ports with outdated mini USB and mini jacks!
    Plastic feel.
Small tempo faders, without key lock.
Loops with 1, 2, 4, 8 bars, do not change.
Does not have volume for the sampler.
Does not have kill switches or EQ.
The filter, if you change pages and haven't reset it, remains active.
The effects stop if you release your finger, in Serato lite, in Pro it's OK because you can adjust them.
Inability to directly select library songs from the console.

Finally, it fits in an Akai LPK25 case.
A remapping that is worth it for VDJ, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldzyidaGNZw

Are you a beginner and looking to mix music on a low budget? Look no further! For parties and home use, it is the best option, it does all the basics and fits in any bag, which also serves as a backup controller for professionals. The quality for this price is unbeatable and the support of Serato Pro (obviously not included!) makes it the best sub $100 console you can find.

The only negatives are the lack of knobs for mid & highs (let's not get carried away, Hercules has already fit so many functions into such a small console) and the presence of a 3.5mm jack for audio output instead of RCA, which is completely justified due to the price, but it still plays quite loudly!
