Description

Description

Simple type wheelchair is designed for the transportation of individuals with physical or mental disabilities. It enables the transportation of people with mobility issues or limited mobility and can be used for movement by the patient themselves (if it has large rear wheels) or with the help of an operator. When the wheelchair has a rear wheel with a diameter of 50 to 60 cm and a special handgrip on the wheel, the user can move independently.

    Instructions for Use

    • Press the seat down to open the wheelchair.
    • Pull the seat up to close it.
    • Adjust the footrests to the desired height.
    • To remove the footrests, release the lock and pull upwards.
    • To adjust the footrests to the desired angle (if equipped with reclining footrests), use the appropriate lever.
    • To remove or raise the side panels, press the appropriate lever.
    • To move by yourself, use the appropriate handle on the wheels.
    • To overcome an obstacle or go up a slope, tilt the wheelchair back from the handles and push forward.
    • On a sloped road, hold the wheelchair firmly by the handles.
    • To apply the brakes on the rear wheels, push the appropriate levers forward.
    • The larger rear wheels have rims of slightly smaller diameter that protrude slightly above the tire. These allow the user to maneuver the chair by pushing them without grabbing the tires. Manual wheelchairs generally have brakes that engage the rear wheel tires, but these are exclusively parking brakes, and braking while moving is provided by the user's palms directly on the push rims. As this causes friction and heat buildup, especially on long descents, many wheelchair users choose to wear padded wheelchair gloves. Manual wheelchairs have two push handles at the top rear of the frame to allow manual propulsion by a second person.
