Description & Specifications

The legendary comic hero Zagor was created in 1961. His real name is Patrick Wilding, but the Native Americans call him Zagor or Za-Gor-Te-Nay, "The Spirit with the Axe." Zagor's story is set in the northeastern part of the United States in the first half of the 19th century, in a swampy, rugged area of the fictional Dorkwood forest in Pennsylvania.

Zagor is the legendary hero of the forests, mountains, and lakes who maintains peace between whites and Native Americans and punishes criminals. His parents were slaughtered by the Abnaki Indians, led by a fanatical white renegade. Zagor survived the massacre and was rescued from the river by the wandering hunter, poet, and philosopher "Wandering" Fitzy, whose real name is Nathaniel Fitzgeraldson. Fitzy raised him as his own son and trained him as a hunter and warrior.

In the classic comic Zagor Against the Vampire (Zagor #85-87, July-September 1972) written by Guido Nolitta and illustrated by Gallieno Ferri, Zagor and Chico are asked by their friend Bob Parkman to accompany his son, Albert, on a journey to Ocean City. However, during the journey, some unexpected events occur: several members of the caravan are found dead with two small marks on their necks.

Hosted by Baron Rakosi, the surprises continue as young Parkman becomes increasingly weaker while succumbing to horrifying nightmares. As the days go by, some tormenting questions arise among the travelers. Why does the Baron inexplicably fear garlic and never appear during the day?

The answer is revealed by Doctor Metrevelli, who discloses the cold truth to Zagor! The Baron is a Vampire! Zagor confronts him in an unequal battle as the Vampire has superhuman strength. However, the night is coming to an end, and the balances will be overturned...
