The story begins when Zidane Tribal, a member of the theatrical group Tantalus, is tasked with kidnapping Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII of the kingdom of Alexandria. However, Garnet wants to escape, and together with Zidane, the loyal knight Steiner, and the black mage Vivi, they embark on a journey that reveals deeper threats. Queen Brahne uses magic to unleash war, while Kuja, a mysterious arms dealer, manipulates events for his own purposes.
