The purpose of the book is to help the child memorize the multiplication tables. If this is not done early enough and in the right way, the child will face difficulties in the subsequent stages of learning mathematics. Mastering the multiplication tables will significantly ease the child's transition to the more complex concepts that follow.
We suggest the following ways to help your child:
1. Practice each question separately. Allow the child to see the board but hide the answers and ask: "What is 7 times 4?" while simultaneously showing the question on the board. This way, by using two senses at the same time, hearing and sight, the retention of the information in the child's mind becomes more effective.
2. Practice in the reverse way. Hide the question and leave the answers visible. For example, show "28" and prompt the child to formulate the question: "7 x 4" or "4 x 7". This type of practice prepares the child for division and factoring. The tables are presented in order from 1 to 12. However, we recommend practicing them in the following order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12. In the last part of the book, you will find exercises that the child can solve once they complete the practice with the tables.
How to use the folding sheets: Attached to the front and back cover of the book, you will find two folding sheets. Use them to cover the answers when practicing with the tables. Additionally, the child can write their answers on the sheets using a water-based marker and then erase them with a soft cloth.
