Well... I've only had it for a month, of course I haven't worked with softwoods at all... it has worked for 10 hours with hardwoods of all kinds (iroko, oak, beech, eucalyptus, etc.) the metal plate that holds the knives bent, resulting in the knives sitting crooked, so it planes at the edges and not in the middle. So it's essentially useless. There is a head on the market with spiral knives, but it costs almost as much as the machine. I will take it to service to see what they will tell me and I will get back to you....
UPDATE: the service does not recognize the problem as a machine issue and says that the knives simply broke. The knives are very thin and cannot be sharpened, so you just turn them over because they have a double edge, but due to the problem with the plate, they break in record time... eventually, I bought the replacement from the company that makes the head for this specific planer. The replacement cost 400 euros and I installed it myself (it's not difficult) now I have a machine that has spiral knives at a cost of 850-900 euros... at the moment there is no tool on the market with spiral knives for this money... so it might be worth buying this and then getting the replacement rather than buying from the other 2 companies for 800 euros... I won't give more stars, even though now the tool is worth 6 stars, but I won't change it because by itself it was disappointing.
