We’re talking about model 1185. Acquaintances gave it to me, complete and in working condition with all its accessories. At first I didn’t understand why, but now I know. It works, yes, but here comes the “but.” Every single dish has a metallic taste that I can’t figure out where it comes from. I also have an air fryer, which isn’t perfect either, meaning these appliances aren’t suitable for all foods, but at least that one doesn’t give food such a metallic taste that you can’t eat it.. Now I’m thinking of getting rid of it too, because it’s pure despair. The heating element underneath has burnt grease and traces of rust, but the screws won’t come out no matter what so I can clean it. If I had to guess, I’d say the quality of the materials, meaning the iron used, is very poor... Truly a great shame for an appliance that looks whole and sturdy for something like this to happen... If we’re now eating traces of rust too, as I read in the comments, then it’ll go on the shelf until I figure out what to do with it... From all this, though, with the robot & air fryer I’ve concluded one thing. As I said, they don’t work for all foods... Nothing beats a frying pan and an oven!
Update..
I managed to remove the screws and clean the fan and the heating element.. I also removed the metal cover with the holes, but you have to be careful because the heating element and the fan aren’t protected, but the metallic taste still seems to remain a little.. In general, I really don’t like how this particular one cooks at all... Not at all, but it was given to me and I might give it away again myself... I don’t know, we’ll see..
