Post-emergence selective herbicide for the control of grass and broadleaf weeds in wheat (hard and soft)
Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium and mesosulfuron-methyl (chemical group of sulfonylureas) as well as thiencarbazone-methyl (chemical group of thiotriazolinones) act by inhibiting the ALS enzyme, acetolactate synthase, thus stopping the biosynthesis of amino acids essential for their growth (leucine, isoleucine, valine) in weeds, resulting in them becoming chlorotic and eventually dying.
After absorption by the weed, they are transported both by the anion and cation sap.
The main site of action is the meristematic tissues of the weeds.
Weed growth stops immediately after application and after a few days wilting and chlorosis of the foliage appear.
Complete necrosis occurs within 4-6 weeks.
In less sensitive weeds, growth delay is observed, making them less competitive with the crop.
