    I'm surprised I haven't seen a review for the Lipo scooters that have been around since 2019, so I'll do it myself! With 3 years of experience on the Lipo 3kW and 2 years on the Lipo 5kW, here’s what you need to know if you’re interested:

    1) It is "inspired" by the Yamaha Cygnus 125 - it has the same frame and a modified rear swingarm to fit the hub motor, so it "shares" the geometry and reliability of the Cygnus. Does it bother me that it's a copy/paste of another? On the contrary, it actually gives it a plus in design/geometry from a bike that was and still is reliable (and trouble-free, as I read - I never owned one). If I'm not mistaken, the white Lipo is a "carbon copy" of the 2016 Cygnus - I think they also share many of the plastic parts.

    2) These are electric scooters with "limited" controllers and BMS and quite capable motors, so nothing will break under normal conditions no matter how much "abuse" they take. You lose a bit in range (the battery operates from about 20%-95%) but longevity is ensured - always for normal use, of course.

    3) Lipo 3kW (2023) with a top speed of ~60km/h is "excellent" if you move in a "tight" urban environment. Range up to 130km (at city speeds ~50km/h). It falls under the AM category (mopeds), so forget about highways and major roads. My routes were for about 3 years ~30km/day (~15km to and ~15km from work) and it never had a problem (and as far as I know, the new owner hasn't had any issues either). Battery charging was done at about 90km (after the 3rd day of commuting) and since I kept a "log", the SK 72V/56Ah battery it had showed no "fatigue" (I estimate less than 3%). Of course, as I mentioned, this was for this specific use (and a few rides around). After 3 years and 15,000km, the charging cost was about 90 euros (~60 cents/100km).

    4) Lipo 5kW (2022) with a top speed of ~100km/h. Falls under the A1 category (125cc). More powerful motor and controller (here the practical limiter is the battery), for comfortable riding on larger roads - naturally "paying" the price in increased consumption (Wh/km). The range at speeds of ~60km/h is a bit less than the "smaller" one (due to the larger motor and scooter weight), but since with the 5kW model you'll be riding on bigger roads, the real range will drop compared to "theory". About 90km is a realistic scenario for mixed conditions. The good thing is that the controller on mine (and maybe on other 5kW models) can be programmed, so I adjust the parameters according to my "mood" and usage.

    Common features:
    a) Chinese made, so don't look for instructions or a service manual, there isn't one. You can find a user manual, but it’s not useful, it just describes the scooter you can see for yourself. They're not "bad", they're very well made for what they are.
    b) The Kenda tires should be thrown away and replaced as soon as you get it, they're not suitable for our roads (mainly Attica). On the 3kW I had Metzeler Roadtec and on the 5kW Michelin city grip/city grip 2. Each tire behaves differently (different profile), choose according to your use/mood, both are very good.
    c) The Lipos have 1 front disc brake 220mm and 1 rear disc brake 220mm. The 3kW does not have CBS, the 5kW does (pressing the rear brake activates the middle piston in the front caliper). Both have "regenerative braking" (energy recovery - adjustable on the 5kW, not on the 3kW). The brakes are more than enough for the 3kW; for the 5kW, although I've never had issues, I’d like them a bit stronger - they stop quickly from any speed. If you're "in the know", you can change the OEM pads for better (sintered) ones for initial "bite" and even better braking. Unlike drum brakes at the rear, with 2 x 220mm discs, brakes are not an issue.
    d) Battery: I don't know why companies write "whatever" on their pages, but the Lipo battery from 3kW and up is always 72V, chemistry is NCM with 20 cells in series (20S), while the "lottery" is in the models (CATL or SK) and capacity. I've seen stickers on batteries saying 50Ah, 52Ah, 56Ah, 57Ah, 62Ah, 63Ah, 65Ah, 66Ah. The reality is that CATL batteries are/were 52Ah and SK batteries 56Ah. I have no opinion on the newer batteries, as I haven't opened any, they "advertise" CATL and SK at 65Ah, you can easily calculate the battery capacity when you charge it with 2-3 calculations and of course ask for the battery capacity and model to be written on the receipt/warranty you get to be sure you're not given SK for CATL or vice versa.
    e) 12-inch wheels. Many will say they're not good, but the reality is that if "the road is a road", they're fine. In Attica you'll "take a beating" because the Lipo suspensions are designed for roads, not "dirt tracks", and for "Asian spec" riders - I'm 90kg so I live it daily, but never to the point of losing control. Whenever I was on "normal roads" there was no problem, even though the wheels are 12 inches. One detail: all Lipos have a front tire 90/90R12, while the rear is 120/70R12, I don't know if there are rear tires 90/90R12, I've seen it in several company ads, but I don't know if it's real. The QS motors on the Lipos "want" 120/70R12 or 130/70R12 depending on the version (from 3kW and up).
    f) The lights (especially with LED bulbs) are ok, I rarely drive at night and haven't had a problem - and during the day they're bright enough / I don't need to use high beam to be seen.
    g) Generally, they don't have problems since there aren't many things that can break (motor, controller, battery are the basics, everything else is "peripheral" and "usually" doesn't break). Surprisingly, after years of "bumpy roads" there are no rattles in the plastics - nor has anything broken. They can handle two-up (especially the big one) - but be careful with the maximum weight so you don't end up with the hub motor "in your hand". Some minor issues will come up (most common is brake squeaking / unfortunately the Chinese calipers are responsible), but these are easily and quickly dealt with with a spray. No issue in rain or washing, the controller and "main electronics" are in a spot where water doesn't reach. For those used to combustion, the weight distribution may feel a bit "odd", because with the hub motor the Lipo is rear heavier than combustion scooters.

    "Verdict" - is buying a Lipo worth it?
    a) For the city only and to save money, yes, it's worth it. I save 250 euros a month by not using my car - though of course risking it on 2 wheels... You weigh it up and decide.
    b) For a "tight urban cycle", the 3kW version is a no-brainer (and the 3kW is marketing, but that's another story) because since it runs "gently" and "protected" it will be more trouble-free. Most will prefer the 5kW (or the 6kW now advertised - also marketing, but another discussion), but with "sensible riding" it will satisfy them.
    c) It's not for trips, it's for the city; if you want trips, get a combustion touring scooter. You won't climb mountains with the Lipo, that's not its purpose.
    d) 4 stars because although neither of the two I've used had a serious problem, it's not the perfect electric scooter.
    e) If you have "range anxiety" don't get it, if your routes are on the edge of running out of battery - it's not worth living with that just to save a few euros compared to a 125cc combustion scooter.
    f) Top case on the 3kW is best avoided, as it's likely to cause "speed wobble" on the handlebars because the front end is very light (and the springs/oil Efun puts in the fork). If you’re not afraid, put it on, if not, ask for something else and get a backpack. I had the top case (the Chinese one they give you), until it broke from overloading so I’ve used the 3kW both with and without it.
    g) The bike is silent, so keep that in mind if you get one and act accordingly (don’t honk for no reason - it’s more annoying than revving and exhaust), but also be aware that you’re hard to hear.

    I know I wrote a lot, maybe you won’t get this far - I actually had just as much more to write, but since there hasn’t been a review all these years, this will do. Safe roads and always upright!

Battery charging was done at about 90km (after the 3rd day of commuting) and since I kept a "log", the SK 72V/56Ah battery it had showed no "fatigue" (I estimate less than 3%). Of course, as I mentioned, this was for this specific use (and a few rides around). After 3 years and 15,000km, the charging cost was about 90 euros (~60 cents/100km).

      4) Lipo 5kW (2022) with a top speed of ~100km/h. Falls under the A1 category (125cc). More powerful motor and controller (here the practical limiter is the battery), for comfortable riding on larger roads - naturally "paying" the price in increased consumption (Wh/km). The range at speeds of ~60km/h is a bit less than the "smaller" one (due to the larger motor and scooter weight), but since with the 5kW model you'll be riding on bigger roads, the real range will drop compared to "theory". About 90km is a realistic scenario for mixed conditions. The good thing is that the controller on mine (and maybe on other 5kW models) can be programmed, so I adjust the parameters according to my "mood" and usage.

      Common features:
      a) Chinese made, so don't look for instructions or a service manual, there isn't one. You can find a user manual, but it’s not useful, it just describes the scooter you can see for yourself. They're not "bad", they're very well made for what they are.
      b) The Kenda tires should be thrown away and replaced as soon as you get it, they're not suitable for our roads (mainly Attica). On the 3kW I had Metzeler Roadtec and on the 5kW Michelin city grip/city grip 2. Each tire behaves differently (different profile), choose according to your use/mood, both are very good.
      c) The Lipos have 1 front disc brake 220mm and 1 rear disc brake 220mm. The 3kW does not have CBS, the 5kW does (pressing the rear brake activates the middle piston in the front caliper). Both have "regenerative braking" (energy recovery - adjustable on the 5kW, not on the 3kW). The brakes are more than enough for the 3kW; for the 5kW, although I've never had issues, I’d like them a bit stronger - they stop quickly from any speed. If you're "in the know", you can change the OEM pads for better (sintered) ones for initial "bite" and even better braking. Unlike drum brakes at the rear, with 2 x 220mm discs, brakes are not an issue.
      d) Battery: I don't know why companies write "whatever" on their pages, but the Lipo battery from 3kW and up is always 72V, chemistry is NCM with 20 cells in series (20S), while the "lottery" is in the models (CATL or SK) and capacity. I've seen stickers on batteries saying 50Ah, 52Ah, 56Ah, 57Ah, 62Ah, 63Ah, 65Ah, 66Ah. The reality is that CATL batteries are/were 52Ah and SK batteries 56Ah. I have no opinion on the newer batteries, as I haven't opened any, they "advertise" CATL and SK at 65Ah, you can easily calculate the battery capacity when you charge it with 2-3 calculations and of course ask for the battery capacity and model to be written on the receipt/warranty you get to be sure you're not given SK for CATL or vice versa.
      e) 12-inch wheels. Many will say they're not good, but the reality is that if "the road is a road", they're fine. In Attica you'll "take a beating" because the Lipo suspensions are designed for roads, not "dirt tracks", and for "Asian spec" riders - I'm 90kg so I live it daily, but never to the point of losing control. Whenever I was on "normal roads" there was no problem, even though the wheels are 12 inches. One detail: all Lipos have a front tire 90/90R12, while the rear is 120/70R12, I don't know if there are rear tires 90/90R12, I've seen it in several company ads, but I don't know if it's real. The QS motors on the Lipos "want" 120/70R12 or 130/70R12 depending on the version (from 3kW and up).
      f) The lights (especially with LED bulbs) are ok, I rarely drive at night and haven't had a problem - and during the day they're bright enough / I don't need to use high beam to be seen.
      g) Generally, they don't have problems since there aren't many things that can break (motor, controller, battery are the basics, everything else is "peripheral" and "usually" doesn't break). Surprisingly, after years of "bumpy roads" there are no rattles in the plastics - nor has anything broken. They can handle two-up (especially the big one) - but be careful with the maximum weight so you don't end up with the hub motor "in your hand". Some minor issues will come up (most common is brake squeaking / unfortunately the Chinese calipers are responsible), but these are easily and quickly dealt with with a spray. No issue in rain or washing, the controller and "main electronics" are in a spot where water doesn't reach. For those used to combustion, the weight distribution may feel a bit "odd", because with the hub motor the Lipo is rear heavier than combustion scooters.

      "Verdict" - is buying a Lipo worth it?
      a) For the city only and to save money, yes, it's worth it. I save 250 euros a month by not using my car - though of course risking it on 2 wheels... You weigh it up and decide.
      b) For a "tight urban cycle", the 3kW version is a no-brainer (and the 3kW is marketing, but that's another story) because since it runs "gently" and "protected" it will be more trouble-free. Most will prefer the 5kW (or the 6kW now advertised - also marketing, but another discussion), but with "sensible riding" it will satisfy them.
      c) It's not for trips, it's for the city; if you want trips, get a combustion touring scooter. You won't climb mountains with the Lipo, that's not its purpose.
      d) 4 stars because although neither of the two I've used had a serious problem, it's not the perfect electric scooter.
      e) If you have "range anxiety" don't get it, if your routes are on the edge of running out of battery - it's not worth living with that just to save a few euros compared to a 125cc combustion scooter.
      f) Top case on the 3kW is best avoided, as it's likely to cause "speed wobble" on the handlebars because the front end is very light (and the springs/oil Efun puts in the fork). If you’re not afraid, put it on, if not, ask for something else and get a backpack. I had the top case (the Chinese one they give you), until it broke from overloading so I’ve used the 3kW both with and without it.
      g) The bike is silent, so keep that in mind if you get one and act accordingly (don’t honk for no reason - it’s more annoying than revving and exhaust), but also be aware that you’re hard to hear.

      I know I wrote a lot, maybe you won’t get this far - I actually had just as much more to write, but since there hasn’t been a review all these years, this will do. Safe roads and always upright!
