I bought this solar water heater in 2011. Until 2014, I was satisfied. Whenever the company called me for maintenance, I would have it done (costing 75 euros each time). But in 2014, it started tripping the circuit breaker whenever I turned it on with electricity. The problem was the resistance. The Angelopoulos team came, took a look, and said the resistance was functional and that it was an electrical issue. They urged me to call an electrician. I paid them and called an electrician. The electrician told me that it was indeed the resistance since there was normal current reaching the solar heater. I paid him for the visit. I called Angelopoulos again, informed them that the electrician had come, and after a thousand pleas for them to come and change the resistance (since the solar heater is located far away in Rafina, 57km from Athens, and the schedules didn't match), they finally came and asked me to pay for the transportation as well! I could have saved that expense (plus the electrician's fees) if the first team that came had done their job correctly and changed the resistance.

Now let's fast forward to today. Suddenly, it started leaking water in the summer. I spoke to Angelopoulos, and they told me it was nothing significant, just an overflow after maintenance. It would stop soon. Two weeks passed with frequent phone calls from me and the same responses from them, until the refrigerant ran out and I was left without a solar heater. When I mentioned this to Angelopoulos, their response was for me to refill the refrigerant myself until a team could come near the distant Rafina! After I refilled the refrigerant myself and another week passed (and, of course, it leaked out again), the team came and said that the tank was leaking (in a 6-year-old solar heater!!!!) and it needed to be replaced. I said okay, it's covered by the lifetime warranty of the solar heater. They said NO, because to be within the warranty, I had to call them every year for maintenance, not every 2-3 years when they called me. Also, coincidentally, they had a tank with them to install for 250 euros!!! When I refused and told them I wanted to repair the existing tank, Angelopoulos mentioned that the transportation would cost 100 euros (as a favor) plus the cost of repairing the tank by the company. And how much would that repair cost? Well, they didn't know!!! It could be anywhere from 0 to 80 euros, or maybe even more! When I asked how it was possible for them not to know the cost of repairing a tank, Angelopoulos replied that they had never encountered a leak before!!!! And how long would the process take to remove the tank, inspect it, and bring it back to Rafina? The answer was 3-4 days. And what would I do during those days without a solar heater (or electricity)? They suggested that they could send me an electric water heater, and I could connect it at my own expense!!!!

To summarize, they offered two solutions in their opinion: a) I could install the new tank (which, I repeat, they conveniently had with them for 250 euros) or b) I could pay 100 euros for transportation + the repair cost of the existing tank (unknown) + the installation of the electric water heater until the tank arrived!!! And all of this because I didn't have maintenance done every year, but again, I repeat, every time Angelopoulos called me to do it, so that I wouldn't lose the lifetime warranty. I chose the third option, to bid them farewell and tell them that their after-sales service is poor.

The conclusions are up to you!
