Description
The access point CV-7438nDM by Edimax is useful for creating or extending a wireless network to connect multiple devices. It emits a signal at two frequencies, 2.4 & 5GHz. It offers higher speeds compared to single band and connection of more devices. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most widespread and has a large range. The 5Ghz provides higher speed than the 2.4Ghz but is more sensitive to obstacles (e.g., walls) that reduce its range. This difference and its more limited use help it to have fewer interferences from other networks. Offers up to 300Mbps in total to devices connected to it. In practice, the actual speed that such a repeater of this generation (Wi-Fi 4) can offer to a device is closer to 50Mbps. It is Wi-Fi 4 generation, an older generation recommended for use with a few devices and for applications that do not require high speeds.
