Red dry wine, Roptron
Mavroudi is the most typical and characteristic variety of Thrace. Adapted to the climatic conditions of the region and in complete harmony with the microclimate changes.
A resistant variety with overproduction that is controlled with effort to keep its production at low levels of 600 to 700 kilos per acre.
Manual pigéage is applied and the alcoholic fermentation is allowed to complete to the end, in the presence of the grape skins. The resulting wine is naturally drained without pressing the grapes.
Bottled without filtration and there is a possibility of sediment formation. Aged in French and American barrels for about one year and then in the bottle for at least two years.
Superior and full of quirks, Mavroudi challenges viticulturists and winemakers, but the effort is truly worth it, as shown in the result.
Ruby with brick red highlights, medium concentration. Red fruits and sweet spices, herbal undertones (sun-dried tomato). Full-bodied taste. Ripe tannins. Fruity intense aftertaste.
