Flawless focus, sharpness, and color reproduction already from f2.8. It works very well with Panasonic bodies. Compared to the "equivalent" Panasonic 12-60 f2.8 - 4, you gain the fixed aperture, build quality, and slightly better image quality, but you lose the range, weight, and stabilization that works with Panasonic bodies. Personally, I almost always choose the 12-40.

What can I say about this lens! Diamond! If I had to choose only one lens, I would take this one with my eyes closed! It has been mounted on the em-10 ii and the em-5 ii. The images it produces are superior in sharpness and color even compared to a prime lens with f/1.8. At least in my eyes.
The only drawback is its weight, which makes a small camera front-heavy and difficult to hold. It's not the best for traveling to have it hanging around your neck with the camera looking at the ground.
Other than that, it can be used in most situations. Day, night, landscape photos, group and individual portraits.
