The THORENS TD 204 was developed for the novice audiophile. A turntable with sound expansion capability for audiophiles. The surfaces in black gloss and walnut gloss perfectly match the typical THORENS design series. The brand identity is emphasized by the high-quality processing that ensures a long lifespan, like all Thorens turntables. The newly developed TP 120 tonearm impresses with its high-quality bearing technology. The play of the axis and the friction coefficients have been reduced to an astonishingly low level for this honorable category using modern axes. The TP 120 is a true 9-inch J-shaped aluminum tonearm with an effective arm mass of 15 grams. The visual similarity to the larger TP 150 and TP 124 models is obvious and promises first-class features. The removable headshell with SME connection is equipped with the AT95E from the Japanese specialist Audio Technica. Skating compensation is achieved via a spring. The connection socket at the back has high-quality RCA sockets for a stable connection to the amplifier. An integrated MM preamplifier (which can be switched on/off) allows direct connection to a high-level input. The platter, precisely manufactured from cast aluminum, rotates with an accurate belt drive. The TD 204 base rests on four vibration-resistant feet.
