Description & Specifications

But who is Constance, the legendary Lady Chatterley, the heroine of the novel that was read worldwide and criticized as pornography more than any other? A young, beautiful woman who had the misfortune of marrying a wealthy nobleman, paralyzed in a wheelchair and sexually incapable. Her life flows drearily and monotonously, within conventions and a barren marital duty, until she meets Oliver Melors, a strong and healthy man who works as a gamekeeper on her husband's estate.

With him, Constance will discover love, her sexuality - thus her true self - and consequently the joy of life, escaping from the stagnation of a marriage that could resemble a living death. The aristocrat will unite with the commoner, breaking taboos.

The vulnerabilities of our culture can be corrected thanks to a new, healthy regime between the two sexes and among social classes. The French thinker and writer André Malraux writes, among other things, in the preface of the French edition, about the novel: ‘Lawrence does not want to be either happy or great; he simply wants to exist’. And further: ‘What is Lady Chatterley's need? To reveal herself through her own sexuality. The means of this awakening does not matter... The true dialogue takes place between Lady Chatterley and herself’.
