Very good quality, perfect for summer ☀️ hiking. My favorite brand!

I got them for everyday summer use and they are very comfortable.
I have a narrow foot and they fit me exactly. Of course, I wear them with socks to avoid unpleasant odors.

Very good feeling on the feet, they don't slip anywhere, not even on rocks in and out of the water (sea and river), not even on pine needles. The only thing they don't do while moving is to get the sand and dirt out from inside (you have to take them off). In the sun, they dry in 15 minutes. Excellent!!!

Thank god Salomon for the 5th generation of their water shoe went back to the proven design of the 3rd generation as the 4th was horrendous. The Techamphibian 5 has all the merits of the Techamphibian 3 with a couple of additions:
Better heel cover; when you pull the cover down to use the shoe as a crock the heel doesn’t try to dig into your foot anymore. And also the higher seals means that it is not so easy to get sand and small stones in the sole.
It still drains water as fast as the previous generation while it also dries up faster. A fantastic product!
Durability is still too early to say.

Very good, of course I had issues with the small stones getting in and never coming out unless you take off the shoe. They were tested in river crossing and were effective.

I got them as a summer shoe that would dry quickly and could be worn without socks. Contrary to what you would expect, they do not dry quickly (my running sneakers dry much faster) and because they got wet twice, now they smell so bad that they are basically ready to be thrown away. Really disappointing for such a branded shoe.

At €65, it’s ideal. I like that it can be worn both as a regular shoe and as a slipper.

I wear them at the beach, but I rinse them before the seawater dries on them. Note that for them to dry, they need a few hours even in summer in the sun. So don’t expect to wear them at the beach, leave them in the sun for half an hour, and then put them back on dry.
So far they’ve had 2 seasons on them and nothing has happened to them. They have a thick sole, so I’m not worried about what I’ll step on, whether it’s a rock or a sea urchin.
What was impressive was that I wore them on the marble balcony where I had spilled soapy water, and they didn’t slip at all.

Be careful with the size because Salomon has changed its fit over the years and made it for narrower feet.

Update: 3 years later the shoes are like new and I still wear them at the beach and beyond.

Excellent and tough sole! If you want it for long distances, unfortunately, you need a sock to avoid getting a blister on your foot.

Much better is the construction of the older model Techamphibian 3. The current one is heavier with a worse fit and does not secure firmly on the foot

They are perfect, but the wrong size. Their fit is very narrow, you need at least one size up if you have even a regular width foot. The length is fine.

I had the first pair that Salomon released in 2000. Salomon quality. After 24 years of summer use in rivers, etc., their sole came off and I decided to get the Techamphibius 5. They show similar quality, comfortable on the foot, and with a good grip on their sole. Their durability will be proven over time.
