This specific book includes two large collections of pieces: the Soirées italiennes based on secular songs (Mercadante and Gaetano Donizetti) and the Konzerttranskriptionen über 10 geistliche Lieder (Beethoven and Schubert, with the latter based on a choral piece by Schubert). Additionally, it includes an arrangement of a Romanesque melody from 1833. There are also two editions of the transcription of Beethoven's song Adelaide and the Grand fantaisie de concert based on themes from Bellini's opera La sonnambula.
The edition is available in two formats: with a blue hardcover and in soft paper. A detailed description of the sources and critical analysis can be found in the hardcover edition. Both editions are illustrated with facsimiles of Liszt’s original manuscripts.
