Description

PDO Mavrodafni of Patras

  • Mavrodafni (51%)
  • Black Corinthian (49%)

Vineyard in the Mavrodafni of Patras PDO zone (north and northwest of Patras) and Achaia region respectively.

Harvest at the end of August to early September for Mavrodafni. Second half of August for Black Corinthian.

Vinification according to the traditional method of fortified sweet wine. Separate vinification for each variety and interruption of alcoholic fermentation, with the addition of wine spirit. The sweetness of Mavrodafni wine is due exclusively to the sugar of the grapes, while its bouquet combines the aromas of the grapes with those of partial fermentation and aging.

Aging for at least 12 months in oak barrels (225 liters).
