The first upgrade for riders needing better brake performance is choosing a better combination of rotors and pads.

The larger the diameter of the rotor, the longer it takes to repeat a cycle at the same contact point with the pad. Thus, the same point of the rotor has a better chance to cool down before it goes through friction again with the pads, which will add more heat to the metal.

Additionally, the metal technology used by SHIMANO in its high-quality brake lines allows for use with metal pads that maintain their performance at high temperatures.
