The Petzl I’D Evac self-braking descender is primarily designed for descent from an anchor point. Its ergonomic handle is specifically oriented for load management from the anchor and provides comfortable control during the descent. The integrated anti-panic function and error-catching mechanism reduce the risk of accidents due to human error. The AUTO-LOCK system allows for automatic locking of the rope without the need to operate the handle or tie off the device. Once locked, the rope can be suspended without needing to operate the handle. The secure gate allows for the installation of the rope while the device remains connected to the anchor. The I’D EVAC is compatible with ropes of diameters 10 to 11.5 mm and allows for the management of loads up to 250 kg.
