Properties:
The VIMAFER-C is a pre-prepared cement mortar with a high content of polymer components. It can function as an anti-corrosive protection for reinforced concrete reinforcement or as an adhesive layer for repair mortars.
Applications:
- For protecting the steel reinforcement in cases of repair restoration of damaged reinforced concrete due to issues such as earthquakes, carbonation, or corrosion.
- For preventing the corrosion of reinforcement in concrete elements exposed to highly humid environments.
- As a bonding layer between old and new concrete or mortar.
Usage instructions:
The steel reinforcement must be thoroughly cleaned of rust, cement residue, oils, etc. The concrete substrate must similarly be free from dust, loose materials, oils, etc. The material is added to the pre-measured water (25%) while stirring until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
Anti-corrosive protection: The application is done with a brush in two layers. The thickness of each layer should not exceed 1mm to avoid cracking. The second layer is applied after the first has dried.
Adhesive layer: The material is spread with a brush onto the existing substrate at a thickness of approximately ≥1mm. The application of new concrete or mortar is done immediately on the still wet VIMAFER-C. The temperature during application must be at least +50°C.
Consumption:
- Anti-corrosive protection of reinforcement = 0.10-0.15 kg/m of reinforcement (2 layers)
- Bonding layer: 2.0 kg/m2 (1 layer)
