Silk Tracheostomy Scarf NobleCare

The Silk Tracheostomy Scarf NobleCare provides coverage to the tracheostomy area, allowing the user to feel comfortable in any interaction. The silk scarf is worn around the neck like a scarf and fastens with velcro. Specially selected fabrics, either cotton or a cotton-polyester blend, allow free air passage through the fabric. It is hand washable at 30°C with mild soap.

Tracheostomy in General

After a tracheostomy/laryngectomy surgery, the patient must adapt to a completely new reality. Breathing no longer occurs through the nose and mouth, leading to a series of issues that need to be addressed:

• Communication difficulty
• Excessive mucus secretions: The overproduction of mucus is a normal bodily response. The solution is the use of humidification/heating filters.
• Respiratory infections: Humidification/heating filters reduce the risk of infections. Filters should be replaced every 24 hours.
• Aesthetic concerns: Once the patient regains their strength, they can use cotton or silk covers for social interactions.
