Description

Description

Light brown beech cane, made from solid single-piece beech wood with a T-handle made of cellulose. The wooden part is from kiln-dried beech from Macedonia, while the handles are made of cellulose.

  • Maximum user weight 100Kg.
  • Color: Brown
  • Made in Greece.

You may find it useful to use a cane if you have a minor balance or stability problem, some weakness in your leg or torso, if you are suffering from an injury, or some pain. If you are elderly, a single-point cane can help you remain independent. At first, everything we do may seem difficult. But with a few tips and some practice, you will gain confidence and learn to use your walking aids safely.

  • Determining the appropriate position for the cane: The top of your cane should reach your wrist when you are standing upright. Your elbow should bend slightly when you hold the cane in your hand. Hold the cane with the hand opposite the side that needs support.
  • Walking: When walking, the cane and your injured leg should swing and touch the ground simultaneously. To start, place your cane slightly in front of your foot and step with your injured leg. Complete the step with your "good" leg.
  • Stairs: To go up the stairs, hold the handrail (if possible) and first lean on your good leg, with your cane in the hand opposite your injured leg. Then, bring up your injured leg. To go down the stairs, place your cane first on the step, then your injured leg, and finally your "good" leg, which bears your body weight.
  • Arrange the space: Remove rugs, electrical cords, avoid wet floors, and anything else that could cause you to fall.
