Avaton from Greek indigenous varieties Limnio, Mavroudi, and Mavrotragano. Limnio - mentioned by Aristophanes as "limnia ampelos" in the 5th century BC - is the oldest Greek variety and dominates the wine.
After extraction and the completion of alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in special oak tanks from Burgundy, the wine ages in French oak barrels. It has a bright deep purple color, a complex bouquet of spices with ripe black fruits (blackberry), raisin, coffee, and cocoa.
On the palate, gentle tannins are supported by abundant fruit, creating power and balance. Its aftertaste is persistent with a recurrence of spices. It has great aging potential and is served at 16-18°C.
