Description

Description

The first Greek bottled red wine with a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) that was released in the Greek market, it has become Greece's trademark in red wines. For 5 generations, it has enjoyed the preference of the Greek consumer, introducing the young to the experience of red wine and rewarding its loyal friends with its consistent, timeless quality.

Winemaking

Cold maceration for 24 hours, bleeding off a portion for rosé, controlled alcoholic fermentation with selected yeast strains at 19-23°C, gentle extraction with intensive recirculation before the start of fermentation (7-10 days), the presses were not included in the blend at all, malolactic fermentation, French oak barrels (3rd and 4th use) for 12 months, mild filtration with large diameter diatomaceous earth, final filtration (polishing) with filter papers.

Features

The most iconic wine in modern Greek oenological history. Deep red with a strong personality and vibrant hue. It exudes a rich bouquet of ripe red fruits, blackberry, sun-dried tomato, and plum, coexisting with notes of cinnamon, pepper, black olive, and wood. It has a rich body, good balance and structure, very smooth on the palate without any bitterness or astringent tannins. It approaches a more modern style of Naoussa that is easier to drink.
