Clay-loam rich in calcium carbonate with a relatively neutral pH. Low organic matter content like most limestone soils in Greece. On the slopes of the hills where most vineyards are located, the soils drain quite well but are exposed to erosion.
The Monograph Rose has arrived and completed the beautiful series of Monograph wines.
Attractive to the eye, cheeky to the nose, and vibrato in the mouth, the Monograph Rose easily "betrays" its origin and what it hides inside. Strictly Peloponnesian with the mountainous Agiorgitiko and the equally mountainous Moschofilero coexisting harmoniously, signing off on its fruity and refreshing character.
Open a bottle and try it on its own as an aperitif or accompanying a wonderful pasta with tomato sauce, always cool at 6-8°C, and you will surely open a second bottle.
Soil
Clay-loam rich in calcium carbonate with a relatively neutral pH. Low organic matter content like most limestone soils in Greece. On the slopes of the hills where most vineyards are located, the soils drain quite well but are exposed to erosion.
Climate
Relatively cold and wet winters with lower temperatures that rarely drop below 0°C. Summers are warm, without excessively high temperatures and with a few thunderstorms in June. This is followed by a long autumn. The warm days and cool nights of September, combined with the relatively dry conditions, create ideal conditions for the good ripening of the grapes. Most of the rainfall (600-700mm annually) occurs between October and March.
Vineyard
Vineyards aged 15 – 40 years, in the semi-mountainous community of Koutsi Nemea, at an altitude of 450-550 m with a steep slope of 15% & direction N-NW. This vineyard is pruned particularly strictly to reduce its fruitful load.
Winery
Built in 1997, in the heart of the privately-owned vineyard, in Koutsi Nemea and at an altitude of 550m. It is a modern industrial building that offers us a wonderful and panoramic view of the Nemea plain and the Asopos river valley, approximately 350 meters lower. Its capacity is 3,060 hectoliters, while the equipment it has in production and quality control systems provides the oenologist with every state-of-the-art means for the vertical production of high-quality wines.
