A unique variety with an extremely exotic appearance! It comes from the warm and humid Philippines. It is striking in hanging pots, showcasing its interesting, cascading growth. It has pointed, narrow, green leaves with brown edges that are approximately 4-9 cm long and 1.5-2 cm wide. With more light, the leaf edges darken and the leaves take on a beautiful red-pink color. The foliage with its beautiful coloring gives the plant an oriental character.
- During the flowering period, it develops wonderful, round, pink-maroon flowers with a captivating fragrance.
- The flowers are clustered in 20-30 flowers in spherical inflorescences.
- The flowers are glossy and look like they are made of porcelain.
Care:
- Substrate: As an epiphytic plant, it prefers a substrate with very good aeration and drainage. A typical mix includes peat, sand, and perlite or pumice. Orchid substrate is also suitable.
- Watering: It stores water for a long period between waterings. Frequent watering is needed in the summer, but overwatering should be avoided. In winter, watering is limited to 1-2 times a month.
- Fertilization: During the growing season, apply fertilizer rich in potassium and phosphorus but low in nitrogen.
- Position: It prefers bright spots indoors but also tolerates darker ones. In outdoor conditions, shade or partial shade is ideal.
- Temperature: Ideal temperatures are 16-30°C; it cannot tolerate temperatures below 10°C.
