Horizon Forbidden West was my first "playstation 5" (it's not exactly a ps5 game, as it was also released on ps4) that I played when I first bought the console (Purchased PS5 console along with Forbidden West). I liked the first game, but I didn't have in mind to buy the sequel.
I have played the base game for 70 hours, plus 15 hours for the DLC.
The game fully reflects the term "sequel". It greatly improves the flaws of the first game, which means that the game becomes more enjoyable.
POSITIVES:
1) The first thing I said WOW when I pressed the "start" button was the visual aspect. The game has tremendous visual improvements. Terrifying differences from the first game, both in landscapes and character design. The variety of landscapes (desert, snow, etc.) present the graphics in a satisfying way! If you have a good TV, you will want to kiss the screen.
2) Nice additions! The hook and glider provide additional comfort to the player and enhance the exploration. The glider, for example, is very useful for descending mountains and buildings, something you couldn't do in the first game. Of course, there are other things, but I can't say anything because they are spoilers.
3) The detail in side quests and cutscenes. Although the side quests are a bit boring, their detail is commendable. In most RPGs, side quests are not given much importance, but here we see something different.
4) Decent soundtrack, but I don't consider it better than the first game.
5) Gameplay. The game has a progressive evolution. Variety in weapons, many combos with the spear, and a huge number of machines. Of course, I can't forget to mention the armors. Beautiful design and you can choose an armor just for appearance.
6) Fantastic DLC. Spending 20 hours for a 15-20 hour expansion is okay in my opinion. One reason why I think it's not on ps4 is the final boss.
7) The first game had the following flaw. You didn't remember the characters (except for ALOY because they presented her perfectly) and you didn't care about them at all. In Forbidden West, not only do you learn about the secondary characters, but you also bond with them.
8) Beautiful sound.
9) For some, it may be indifferent, but I can't say no to the addition of Greek (ONLY Greek menu and subtitles). Unfortunately, the game has many terms and difficult comprehension, especially for those who are not so familiar with English.
NEGATIVES:
1) Mediocre storyline. In contrast to the first game, Forbidden West falls short. I won't lie, the game prepares you PERFECTLY for the storyline, it builds up hype that something big will happen, BUT in the end, nothing happens. You try to collect certain things, which seems obvious, so you don't expect any twists (except for 1-2 exceptions). However, even though it seems obvious that you will collect things, you encounter different areas, machines, and characters. I will give a big "+" for the end because it shows something very interesting for the third installment.
2) BAD PLATFORMING. I have done all the quests that require you to climb platforms and move objects. The game does not respond correctly to the commands at all. Besides that, I do things like jumping and my character never grabs onto the platform, even though I'm doing it correctly.
3) Gameplay. I mentioned positives in this aspect, but I can't ignore the negatives. Enemies (both machines and others) often teleport towards you (they cover a specific distance with their attack, but because you are relatively close to them, they teleport a short distance and hit you) even if you have dodged or slide-dodged. It's EXTREMELY annoying.
Additionally, the game doesn't give you enough incentive to learn combos with the spear, resulting in only relying on 1-3 attacks.
4) The RPG element. It's overloaded with symbols and overwhelms you. There are many unnecessary things that don't motivate you to engage with them. However, ONE thing that you acquire from the main story greatly saves the mediocre RPG element.
As a continuation, Forbidden West is a worthy successor but it doesn't make a huge impact. Those who didn't like the first game or don't enjoy large RPGs should avoid this title. On the contrary, for those who loved the first game, I highly recommend it without hesitation! I had a great time with the game and I don't hide it despite its flaws. I even obtained the Platinum trophy without any reluctance!
Το Horizon Forbidden West ηταν το πρώτο μου "playstation 5" (δεν ειναι ακριβώς ps5 game , γιατί κυκλοφόρησε και στο ps4) που έπαιξα όταν πρωτό αγόρασα την κονσόλα (Αγορά PS5 κονσόλας μαζί με το Forbidden West).Μου άρεσε το πρώτο παιχνίδι αλλά δεν είχα στο μυαλό μου να αγοράσω το Sequel.
Έχω παίξει 70 ώρες το βασικό παιχνίδι , + 15 ώρες το DLC.
Το παιχνίδι αντικατοπτρίζει πλήρως τον όρο "seqeul".Βελτίωσε πάρα πολύ τα ψεγάδια του πρώτου παιχνίδιου , πράγμα που σημαίνει ότι το παιχνίδι γίνεται πιο απολαυστικό.
ΘΕΤΙΚΆ :
1) Το πρώτο πράγμα που είπα WOW οταν πάτησα το κουμπί "start" ήταν ο οπτικός τομέας.Το παιχνίδι έχει τρομερή εξέλιξη στον οπτικό τομέα.Τρομακτικές διαφορές από το πρώτο παιχνίδι , τόσο στα τοπία όσο και στον σχεδιασμό των χαρακτήρων.Η πληθώρα των τοπίων (έρημος,χιόνια κτλ κτλ) παρουσιάζουν με ικανοποιητικό τρόπο τα γραφικά!Αν έχεις και καλή τηλεόραση θα θέλεις να φιλήσεις την οθόνη.
2) Ωραίες προσθήκες!Το hook και το glider δίνουν μια επιπλέον άνεση στον παίκτη και απολαμβάνει περισσότερο την εξερεύνηση.Το glider για παράδειγμα χρησιμεύει πάρα πολύ στο να κατέβεις βουνά και κτήρια , κάτι το οποίο δεν μπορούσες να το κάνεις στο πρώτο παιχνίδι. Φυσικά υπάρχουν και άλλα πράγματα αλλά δεν μπορώ να πω κάτι γιατί αποτελούν Spoils.
3) Η λεπτομέρεια στα side quests και στα custscenes.Παρόλο που είναι λίγο βαρετά τα side quests η λεπτομέρεια τους ειναι αξιοπρεπέστατη.Στα περισσότερα rpgs δεν δίνουν ιδαίτερη βάση στα side quests όμως εδώ βλέπουμε κάτι διαφορετικό.
4) Καλούτσικο Soundtrack , αλλά δεν το θεωρώ καλύτερο από το πρώτο παιχνίδι.
5) Gameplay.Το παιχνίδι έχει μια ανοδική εξέλιξη.Ποικιλία σε όπλα, πολλά combos με το δόρυ και τεράστιος αριθμός μηχανών.Φυσικά δεν γίνεται να μην αναφέρω και τις πανοπλίες.Πανέμορφος σχεδιασμός και μπορείς να επιλέξεις ένα armor μόνο για την εμφάνιση.
6) Φανταστικό DLC.Ένα 20αρικό για 15-20 ώρες της θεωρώ οκέι για ένα expansion.Ένας λόγος που θεωρώ εγώ γιατί δεν είναι στο ps4 είναι το final boss.
7) Το πρώτο παιχνίδι είχε το εξής κακό.Δεν θυμόσουν τους χαρακτήρες (εκτός από την ALOY γιατί την είχαν παρουσιάσει τέλεια) και δεν νοιαζόσουν καθόλου για αυτούς.Στο Forbidden West οχι μόνο μαθαίνεις τους δεύτερους χαρακτήρες αλλά δένεσαι μαζί τους.
8) Όμορφος Ήχος.
9) Για κάποιους είναι αδιάφορο αλλά δεν μπορώ να πω όχι στην προσθήκη των ελληνικών (ΜΌΝΟ ελληνικό menu και υπότιτλοι).Το παιχνίδι δυστυχώς ή ευτυχώς έχει πολλούς όρους και δύσκολη κατανόηση ειδικά για όσους που δεν είναι τόσο εξοικειωμένοι με τα αγγλικά.
ΑΡΝΗΤΙΚΆ :
1) Μέτριο σενάριο.Σε αντίθεση με το πρώτο παιχνίδι, το forbidden West είναι κατώτερο.Δεν θα πω ψέματα το παιχνίδι σε προετοιμάζει ΤΈΛΕΙΑ για το σενάριο, σου φουντώνει ένα hype ότι θα γίνει κάτι πολύ μεγάλο ΑΛΛΆ στην τελική δεν γινέται ΤΊΠΟΤΑ.Προσπαθείς να συλλέξεις κάποια πράγματα , κάτι το οποίο σου φαίνεται προφανές οπότε δεν περιμένεις ανατροπές (1-2 εξαιρέσεις).Ωστόσο παρόλο που σου φαίνεται προφανές ότι θα συλλέξεις πράγματα , συναντάς διαφορετικές περιοχές, μηχανές και χαρακτήρες.Θα δώσω ένα "+" μεγάλο για το τέλος του επειδή δείχνει κάτι πολύ ενδιαφέρον για το τρίτο κεφάλαιο.
2) ΚΑΚΌ PLATFORMING.Έχω κάνει όλα τα quests που ζητάνε να ανέβεις σε πλατφόρμες και να μετακινείς πράγματα.Το παιχνίδι δεν ανταποκρίνεται καθόλου σωστά στις εντολές.Εκτός από αυτό κάνω πράγματα όπως το jumb και η χαρακτήρας μου δεν πιάνεται ποτέ στην πλατφόρμα,ενώ το κάνω σωστά.
3) Gameplay.Ανέφερα θετικά σε αυτό το κομμάτι όμως δεν γίνεται να μην αναφέρω τα αρνητικά.Οι εχθροί (μηχανές και μη) τις περισσότερες φορές κάνουν teleport κατά πάνω σου (διανύουν μια συγκεκριμένη απόσταση από ένα attack τους αλλά επειδή είσαι σχετικά κοντά τους κάνουν ένα μικρό teleport και σε χτυπάνε) και ας έχεις κάνει dodge ή slide-dodge.Εκνευρίζει ΑΦΆΝΤΑΣΤΑ.
Επιπλέον το παιχνίδι δεν σου δίνει μια ώθηση να μάθεις τα combos με το δόρυ , με αποτέλεσμα να μένεις μόνο σε 1-3 attacks.
4) Τo RPG στοίχειο.Είναι τίνγκα στα σύμβολα και σε μπουκώνει.Πολλά αχρείαστα πράγματα που δεν σου δίνουν ένα κίνητρο να ασχοληθείς.Βέβαια ΈΝΑ πράγμα που θα αποκτήσεις από το main story το ΣΏΖΕΙ σε γιγαντίαιο βαθμό το μέτριο rpg στοιχείο.
Σαν συνεχιστείς,το forbidden West αποτελεί ένας άξιος διάδοχος αλλά δεν κάνει το απόλυτο ΜΠΑΜ.Όσοι δεν τους άρεσε το πρώτο παιχνίδι ή δεν σας αρέσουν τα μεγάλα rpg να αποφύγετε τον τίτλο.Αντίθετα, όσοι αγάπησαν το πρώτο παιχνίδι το προτείνω άφοβα!Πέρασα πολύ ωραία με το παιχνίδι και δεν το κρύβω παρόλο που είχε ελαττώματα.Πήρα και το Platinum trophy χωρίς καμία αγγαρεία!
