These are the sheets commonly known as "plexiglass."

Their basic characteristics are:

• High transparency up to 92%.
• Color stability over time.
• Increased strength, at least 5 times that of glass of the same thickness.
• Reduced weight, 50% lighter compared to glass of the same thickness.
• Resistance to ultraviolet UV radiation.
• Available in stock in thicknesses of 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm.
• Available by order in other thicknesses (e.g., 20mm, 30mm) and in various designs or textures (e.g., satin, fluorescent, etc.).

The high strength and transparency of acrylic sheets have made them the most popular material for the construction of noise barriers. They are also widely used in basketball backboards (thicknesses of 10mm and 12mm).
