The land around present-day Carcassonne, with its mighty castle, was inhabited thousands of years ago. The inhabitants of that time hunted, fished, and gathered forest fruits to ensure their survival. Even today, numerous cave paintings and archaeological findings provide evidence of their lives and help in understanding their fate.
During the game, players place terrain tiles and connect them, creating the game board. Forests, rivers connected to lakes, and extensive pastures are formed, where wildlife will roam. Players can place their servants on the tiles. Thus, they become hunters, gatherers, and fishermen, earning points - during or at the end of the game. The one who accumulates the most points - wins!
