Polarizing filters are used to select which rays of light enter the camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflective glare from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass, while simultaneously enhancing color saturation and providing better contrast.
The effect can be observed through the viewfinder and adjusted by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the rotation of the filter and its orientation relative to the sun. Additionally, it allows colors to become more saturated and appear clearer, with improved contrast.
This effect is often used to increase contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot.
